Wie die allermeisten Bücher über Diskursanalyse ergehen sich die beiden AutorInnen auch in den allergrößten Teilen des (dünnen) Buches in theoretischen Erörterungen und Klassifizierungen verschiedener Typen von Diskursanalyse und liefern sehr wenig konkrete Informationen über das Vorgehen bei der tatsächlichen Analyse.

* Insbesondere die das Berichten darüber, wie letztlich ''gezählt'' wurde, scheint ein Tabu in diskursanalytischer Methodenliteratur, ja sogar in der qualitativen Literatur ganz allgemein zu sein.
* Am interessantesten sind wohl die Verweise auf Beispielstudien, die es dann im einzelnen anzusehen gilt
